Funkidz - Kings School Rochester

There was no room for boredom during the October holidays at Funkidz! Club – King’s School
Rochester. It was filled with fun packed activities for different ages and abilities.

In line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), due regard is given to each child within
the setting, in particular the 3-5year olds.

They are able to participate at their own pace or chose activities of interest.

The EYFS Themes and Principles

A unique child
Every child is a competent learner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Positive relationships
Children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key person.

Enabling environments
The environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children's development and learning.

Learning and development
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates and all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.

The above themes and principles can be seen as some of the children built dens, chatted in the park, learnt archery, baked, danced, made leaf collages, painted porcelain teapots and cups, ate food from different cultures, tree climbed, face painted, played football, rode scooters/bikes, played pool, took turns on the Wii, had small animals visit and much more.

Comments made by children and parents:

“I can’t believe my son’s joining in dressing up, he’s definitely enjoying himself!”

“Thank you, I can roller skate now”

“The boys couldn’t wait to come in today”

“This club is what my children need. Thank you.”
